From 1985 to April 2007 he was a partner of the large Perth firm of Jackson McDonald, during which time he developed an extensive general insurance practice acting for insurers, employers, insureds and claims managers.

He has extensive claims experience and knowledge of insurance products including:

• Workers’ compensation, fatal accidents, motor vehicle and civil/occupiers liability;
• Professional indemnity;
• Aviation;
• Domestic property damage, liability and personal accident; and
• Contractors’ commercial policies.

Philip has appeared as Counsel in several leading cases in the Court of Appeal, and is currently a consultant to Greenland Legal.
